Consul General Engin Türesin was born in Ankara in 1979. He received his undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences in International Relations at Bilkent University.
Consul General Türesin started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2004. He held posts at the Deputy Directorate General for Bilateral Economic Affairs and at the Office of the Chief Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister. He further served as Chief of Section and Acting Head of Department at the Deputy Directorate General for South Asia (2012 – 2014) and Head of Department at the Deputy Directorate for Personnel (2018 – 2020) in the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey. He also served as Third Secretary at the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad (2007 – 2009), Second Secretary and Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Turkey to the Council of Europe (2009 – 2012) and Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Turkey to the United Nations Office in Vienna (2014 – 2018).
As of September 14, 2020, he has taken up office as the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Chicago.
Consul General Türesin is married and has one child.
